Dear neighbors and friends,
Your Association is continuing its projects for safety and beautification of our community with the completion of several important projects:
- Video camera surveillance system and signage at the entry to Mt. Olympus. Members and LAPD may review our DVR tapes for suspect vehicles related to crimes.
- Continued beautification and flower beds at the front entry.
- Street resurfacing, center divider striping on selected streets and pavement warning signs at intersections in conjunction with Los Angeles City Department of Transportation.
- Speed hump on lower Electra Drive (completed).
- Speed Feedback electronic sign on various streets in our community, first in the city to be funded by a community and authorized by LADOT!
- Partnering with the Hollywood Hills West Neighborhood Council to clean, maintain and beautify the center medians at Laurel Canyon Blvd and Mt. Olympus Dr. Pending final grant approval.
These projects many of which MOPOA is funding, are complex and require a long time to complete. Be assured that the Board is actively following through on all improvement projects. Public street projects require LA City approval and action, which unfortunately takes a long time.
I hope you all received and reviewed the MOPOA brochure which was mailed to your home last year and is now posted on this web site. This important brochure summarizes LA Municipal Code sections and CC&Rs requirements that apply to our community. We call this brochure Keeping Mt. Olympus Clean & Green. Thanks to board member Mo Fitzgibbon who initiated and directed this important work.
Most important, I invite all members to participate in our community affairs. The best way to start is to attend a Board of Directors meeting to which all residents of Mt. Olympus are invited. These monthly board meetings usually take place on the first Thursday of each month. For more information please contact the association at 213-486-4555 or contact me directly at drremba@roadrunner.com or 323-851-1647.
