 Dear neighbors and friends,
Your Association is starting the year 2010 with a continuation of several important projects:
- New shed and camera survellience system and signage at the entry to Mt. Olympus
- Construction of a gate house in the center island of the entryway
- Traffic circles (round abouts) at 3 locations in our community (pending city approval).
- Speed hump on lower Electra Drive (pending city approval).
These projects which MOPOA will fund, are complex and require a long time to complete. Be assured that the board is actively following through on all of these improvement projects. Unfortunately, most require LA City approval, which as you know can take a long time.
I hope you all received and reviewed the new MOPOA brochure which was mailed to your home recently and is now posted on this web site. This important brochure summarizes LA Municipal Code sections and CC&Rs requirements that apply to our community. We call this brochure Keeping Mt. Olympus Clean & Green. Thanks to board member Mo Fitzgibbon who initiated and directed this important work.
Most important, I invite all members to participate in our community affairs. The best way to start is to attend a Board of Directors meeting to which you are all invited as a resident. These monthly board meetings usually take place on the first Thursday of each month. Please refer to the home page for meeting location and details.
As a final note, the underground electric cable project was completed by DWP just prior to the rainstorms in early January. This may have contributed to our good luck in having minimal power outages during this heavy storm.
